Kalamazoo Child & Family Counseling accepts several commercial insurance and Medicaid plans for counseling, psychological testing, and psychiatric services. Coverage may vary depending on your plan, provider, and the service you receive.

Commercial Insurance Plans

We participate with:

• Blue Cross Blue Shield
• Blue Care Network
• Priority Health
• UnitedHealthcare, Optum, and UMR

We also work with auto insurance for eligible services.

Medicaid Plans

We accept:

• Aetna Medicaid
• Blue Cross Complete
• McLaren Medicaid
• Priority Health Medicaid
• UnitedHealthcare and United Behavioral Health Medicaid plans

Because insurance networks and benefits can vary, please contact your insurance company to confirm that Kalamazoo Child & Family Counseling and your assigned provider are in-network.

Before Your First Appointment

We recommend asking your insurance company:

• Are outpatient mental health services covered?
• Are my behavioral health benefits managed by another company?
• Are Kalamazoo Child & Family Counseling and my provider in-network?
• What are my copay, coinsurance, and deductible?
• Has my deductible been met?
• Is prior authorization or a referral required?
• Are there limits on the number of covered visits?
• Does my plan include out-of-network benefits?

Verification of benefits is not a guarantee that your insurance company will pay a claim. Clients are responsible for copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and services that are not covered by their plan.

Out-of-Network and Private-Pay Services

If we do not participate with your insurance, your plan may provide out-of-network benefits that reimburse you for part of the cost. We can provide a receipt or superbill for you to submit to your insurance company, but reimbursement is not guaranteed.

We also accept private payment. If you do not have insurance or choose not to use it, you are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the anticipated cost of your care. Visit our No Surprises Act page for more information.
